Why does this matter?
November 1st marks the first day of open enrollment for over 10 million Americans eligible for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). This is the third year of enrollment under Obamacare. Enrollment period will end January 31st, 2016 and after the deadline any American citizen without healthcare coverage will be fined. The fine for not being insured in 2016 is $695 per adult or 2.5% of your income.
America is the most developed country in the world yet it still has many setbacks, and one for many years is health care coverage. About 32.3 million non-elderly Americans are uninsured, over 10 million of these uninsured can greatly benefit from the Affordable Care Act. The mission of Obamacare is to insure every American citizen at an affordable rate.
What does this mean for the world?
As every life matters, it is imperative that accessibility to health coverage is attainable to all despite their financial situation. Obama and his administration built this plan in order to effectively be able to assure that every American has rightful access to good care in the case that they should require it.
